Fear and dream. Like the Ouroboros, a continuous circle of life and death, the spine becomes the monster the master of our daily desert. The madness of a father, a son, a system, a people that kill others and themselves, it is the image and premonition of the end.
“Renato Meneghetti’s painting is also flame and serpent, but in this case we should call it alchemically Ouroboros: the serpent-dragon which has the essence of immortality, it closes in on itself making a perfect circle.
“Gradually – Jung wrote – man transforms himself in Ouroboros, the serpent that eats its own tail, it devours itself, since ancient times it has been the symbol of man possessed by the devil”.
It is what happens to the artist when he is dominated by a sort of ardour.
